Full Time Equivalent

This is the fraction an employee on this pattern works compared to a full-time employee in this role. Normally, this would be calculated by dividing the normal full-time hours per week by the hours per week on this pattern.

An FTE value of 0.50 would represent that the employee works 50% of the hours that a full timer in the same job would work.

Similarly, an FTE of 1.00 would represent that the employee works 100% of the hours that a full timer would work in the role.

Holiday FTE

FTE Holiday is the value used to calculate holiday entitlement when an employee takes their holiday units in days.

This field is usually expected to match the FTE value of the employee, but may differ in circumstances where you do not wish to calculate the holiday entitlement based off of their FTE.

FTE and Holiday FTE in holiday entitlement calculation

Both the FTE and Holiday FTE fields are used for holiday calculations - but only one of them is relevant for an employees holiday entitlement calculations. The relevant field depends on whether the employee takes their holiday in days or hours.

If an employee takes their holiday in days, then the Holiday FTE field is used to perform the calculations. FTE is not used in this situation.

If an employee takes their holiday in hours, then the FTE field is used to perform the calculations. Holiday FTE is not used in this situation.
