Unable to open reports or choose date parameters

Unable to choose a date when opening a crystal report.

When you open a report via the website, you may find that you're unable to open the report or select date parameters. This issue is a result of a recent Microsoft .NET framework update.

Because Crystal Reports uses the .NET framework, the update impacts how reports function, especially in older versions of SelectHR. To resolve this, a manual update is needed.

Hosted with Access

If you're hosted with Access, please raise a case online and our support team will action this for you.


On-premise

If you're on-premise, follow the steps below.

  1. Open the relevant report then right-click the broken image ❌ icon.

  2. Select Properties then, when the panel opens, locate the following:

    inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client\system_web\

  3. Note the number after system_web\.

Once you've got this number, provide this to your IT department then they need to follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to your web server that hosts the SelectHR website.

  2. Open the system_web folder. The default path is:

    C:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client\

  3. Copy an existing folder that's similar to the number noted earlier.

  4. Right-click the folder then select Rename.

  5. Rename the folder to the number noted earlier.

Once you've done this, the date picker for the report displays correctly.
