The Apply FTE to FT Pay Amount function performs a straightforward calculation.
It multiplies the FT Pay Amount by the Career FTE that is active as of the Effective Date on the pay history record.
Calculation formula
FT Pay Amount × Relevant Career FTE = Pay Amount
Example calculations
FT Pay Amount | Career FTE | Pay Amount |
£25,000 | 1.00 | £25,000 |
£25,000 | 0.80 | £20,000 |
£25,000 | 0.50 | £12,500 |
£25,000 | 0.25 | £6,250 |
Decimal precision
The calculation supports up to 8 decimal places.
However, the Working Pattern FTE assigned to the employee’s career history must be entered manually to include the full precision.
By default, the system only calculates FTE to 2 decimal places, so ensure you update the value manually if greater accuracy is required.
Manual override
If your pay calculation differs from this formula or requires a custom approach, do not use the Apply FTE function.
Instead, manually enter the pay amount based on your own calculation to ensure accuracy.
