This article outlines the recommended approach for editing Dashboards in SelectHR. Following these steps helps ensure your configuration changes are protected from future patches and upgrades.

Best practice advice

When making any configuration changes in SelectHR:

  • Always make a copy of the item (e.g. form, process, workflow) before making edits.

  • Replace the standard item in your menu or process with the copy.

  • Do not delete the original item, disable it instead.

  • Make all changes in a test environment first.

  • Take a backup of your live environment before making any changes

Dashboards should also be copied before editing to preserve the original configuration.

Steps to safely edit a dashboard

To edit a dashboard while following best practice, there are three key steps:

  1. Identify the name of the dashboard.
