Re-joining employee has incorrect holiday entitlement when returning

An employee has returned to the company after leaving, but their holiday entitlement is too high.

When an employee is made a leaver on the system and comes back in the same holiday year, the system will continue using the same holiday year record and they may end up with an unexpectedly large entitlement.

To resolve this, follow these steps.

  1. In the Absence zone, click Absence, then click Holiday History.

  2. Click on the black arrow icon to the left of the employee affected.

  3. Open the Holiday Year record with the incorrect entitlement.

  4. On the Details tab, click Do not recalculate in the holiday year details section.

  5. Change the Holiday Year Start field to match their new Start Date (the date they returned to working).

  6. Click Save.

  7. Untick Do not recalculate, then click Save.

The holiday year record will now only calculate their holiday entitlement based on their new start date until the end of the holiday year, which should bring the entitlement in line with expectations.
