Error when navigating in the website: Listing Data Service - Error Reading Data

H
Written by Harry Ledger

This error occurs when the system is unable to retrieve data for a listing. It is most commonly associated with expired licence keys or delays caused by timeouts when loading large or unoptimised data sets.

The following information outlines the most common causes of the error and the recommended checks to help identify whether the issue is licence-related or caused by data retrieval timeouts. Completing these checks will help determine the appropriate next steps or the information required when raising with the support team.

Check the licence key

This error is usually a symptom of an expired licence.

To check your licence, in the Admin Tool, click Licence Keys.

Check the expires column to see if the licence has expired; the text should also appear red if expired.

If you do not have a new licence key to apply, please raise a request for a new one with support.

πŸ“Œ Note: If you are on the latest version of SelectHR Evo, your licence will not expire.

Follow the steps below if your licence has not expired.

Check for timeouts

This can also be caused by a timeout on the listing, for example, if it takes too long to return the data. You can check for error messages in the event log, which should be checked immediately after the error occurs.

This is usually down to using fields in the field list that are erroring, which are not optimised for large amounts of data.

If you find a timeout error, please contact support. You should include the name of the menu and process, if possible.
