This error may occur in SelectHR in a few different areas. This article will help you identify and correct the issue.
β
Most commonly, we can see that the data entered into the system via a workflow form was not completed. This means the system is attempting to find the key number but cannot find it, normally because a record has started to be created and not finished.
β
This can take the form of an absence request started but not completed, a new hire workflow or even a career history record.
β
In order to overcome this error a great first step would be to review the recently created records in this area, for example if you have received this error in relation to an absence request, check the task list to see if you have an open absence request task, if you do, you can complete or fully cancel this pending workflow and try your initial task again.
π Note: The same logic can be applied to overcome this error in other areas of the system.
Alternatively, this error may be caused by an incorrect parent key field within a form you are trying to access.
β
In this example, we will be assuming that career history is presenting this error.
Log in the SelectHR Admin tool.
In the Menus & Processes section, click Menus.
Click the menuset that is erroring, in this example HR 2.0.
Click the process that is erroring, in this example Career History.
Within the process, double-click the effected form, in this example Person Details.
βNote: If the form is unlocked and the Parent Key Field is empty, this will be the reason why the error is appearing.Next to the Parent Key Field, click Change and select an appropriate key field, in this example Appointment History.
