If you need to change the horizontal size of a field on a form, it's important to follow best practice to ensure the original form and process remain unchanged for future use.

Best practice advice

If a form is used in multiple menu sets, any direct changes will affect all instances. To avoid this, follow these steps:

  1. Create a copy of the form.

  2. Create a copy of the process linked to that form.

  3. Assign the copied form to the copied process.

  4. Assign the copied process to the relevant menu set.

This preserves the original setup, allowing you to revert or make different changes in the future if needed.

Change the field size

  1. In the Admin Tool, click Menus.

  2. Double-click the menu set containing the form you want to change.

  3. Double-click the form to open it.

  4. Click the padlock icon to unlock the form for editing.

  5. In the left-hand panel, click the field name you want to resize.

  6. In the center panel, under Text box properties, update the field size using either:

    • Pixels (e.g. 300px).

    • Percentage (e.g. 80%).

Larger numbers will result in a wider field box.

  7. Click Apply, then OK to save the changes.

Always copy and reassign forms and processes before making changes, especially if the form is used in more than one place. This avoids unintentional changes across the system.
