SelectHR sessions expire after a period of inactivity. Understanding how the timeout works can help you avoid losing unsaved work.
The base session timeout is 20 minutes. The timer only resets when you navigate between pages; typing text or clicking within a form does not refresh it.
If you have a long form open, such as a probation review, without navigating away, your session may expire before you save. This causes the save to fail and your work to be lost.
We would therefore recommend that you save your work periodically to avoid any issues.
There is currently no built-in warning message to alert users that their session is about to expire. If this would be useful for your organisation, we recommend you log this as a feature request.
