New Features & Enhancements
Automatic Licence Consolidation for v4.0 Hosted Customers
What’s changed?
An automatic licence consolidation process has been implemented for SelectHR v4.0 hosted customers. Licence expiry dates are now automatically extended through the consolidation process, removing the need for manual intervention.
What was the challenge?
Hosted customers could previously experience system outages if their licence expired before a manual renewal was processed. This change ensures continuity of service without relying on timely manual action.
Benefits
• SelectHR v4.0 hosted customers will no longer be at risk of system outages due to licence expiry.
• Module entitlements and live employee count limits continue to be validated and enforced as before.
• On-premise v4.0 customers are not affected and retain their existing licence expiry process.
P11D & P11D(b) Updated for 2025/26 Tax Year (v4.0)
What’s changed?
The P11D and P11D(b) electronic filing module has been updated to reflect HMRC requirements for the 2025/26 tax year. This includes updated Business Validation Rule (BVR) date references across Sections F and H, and the revised Class 1A National Insurance Contributions (NIC) rate applied to P11D(b) Data Items 111, 112, and 119.
What was the challenge?
HMRC publishes updated BVR documentation each tax year. These updates are mandatory to ensure electronic P11D and P11D(b) submissions pass HMRC validation and are accepted for the 2025/26 tax year, with live filing opening on 06/04/2026.
Benefits
• Payroll teams submitting P11D and P11D(b) returns via SelectHR v4.0 will have the correct 2025/26 tax year references and NIC rates applied automatically.
• No action is required beyond submitting returns as normal once the update is applied.
Security Improvements
ID | Title | Resolution | Action Required |
SEC-FY26Q3-01 | Security Improvements | This release includes internal security remediation's covering hard coded credential removal and secure credential management improvements. There is no change to application functionality or user experience. | None required. |
2201875 | Unauthorised Document Access via URL Manipulation | Document download links now enforce proper authorisation checks. A security vulnerability was identified where a logged-in user could alter the document ID in a URL to access documents belonging to other employees. This has been fully resolved — users can only download documents they are authorised to access. | None required. Any attempt to access another person's documents via URL manipulation will now be blocked. |
2100571 | Cookie Preference Storage Limited on Shared Devices | Cookie preference storage is now limited to a maximum of 10 users per shared device. When a new user logs in on a shared device, the oldest stored preference is automatically removed. This eliminates Chrome console errors on kiosk or hot-desk environments. | None required. |
2145596 | Intercom Reclassified as Essential Cookie | Intercom has been reclassified from 'Functional' to 'Essential' within the SelectHR v4.0 Cookie Policy. The Cookie Policy page has been updated to reflect this change. Intercom will now load without requiring separate cookie consent, ensuring all users have uninterrupted access to customer support. | None required. |
Bug Fixes
ID | Title | Resolution | Action Required |
646169 | Payroll Submission: Incorrect Effective-To Date When Ending Appointment | Corrected the logic that determines the effective-to date sent to SelectPay when ending an employee appointment. Pay elements with a fixed end date were incorrectly having their effective-to date overwritten with the appointment end date, triggering erroneous backpayment calculations. | Review any pending payroll changes related to recently ended appointments to verify that fixed end dates have not been incorrectly overridden. |
1249078 | Recruitment Portal: Forgotten Password Workflow Blocked | Resolved an issue where the Forgotten Password workflow on the Recruitment portal was being blocked, preventing applicants from resetting their passwords and accessing the system. | None required. |
1862282 | Unnecessary Audit Tracking on System Fields and Tables | Removed unnecessary audit tracking from several internal system parameter fields and tables within SelectHR. Audit reports will now contain only meaningful data changes, reducing log volume and improving database performance. | None required. |
1873193 | Holiday Notification Emails Sent to Leavers | The Holiday Notification batch job has been updated to stop sending reminder emails to leavers. If your Holiday Notification batch job was previously disabled due to this issue, it can now be safely re-enabled. | If the Holiday Notification batch job was disabled as a workaround, re-enable it. |
2025902 | Employee Pay History View Column Misalignment | Corrected column alignment in database views such as Employee.[Pay History Other], which were returning data in the wrong columns. Customers using Pay History Other views will now see correct data in all columns. | None required. |
2031960 | Login Error via Workspace/Identity SSO | Resolved a login failure occurring when authenticating to SelectHR via Workspace/Identity Single Sign-On (SSO). Users encountered an 'Unexpected character encountered while parsing value' error. The root cause — malformed data during token parsing — has been fixed. | None required. |
2080811 | Product Identifier Added to Intercom Configuration | A 'Product: SelectHR' identifier has been added to the Intercom configuration. All SelectHR users are now tagged with this attribute, enabling support teams to filter and route cases by product more accurately. | None required. |
2097456 | Onboarding Document Approval Workflow Failure | Fixed the Onboarding document approval workflow which was failing when a user attempted to approve an uploaded document. The root cause was an incorrect primary key configuration on the Document Link Item table. This fix applies to both V4 and V5 systems. | None required. |
2191033 | Error When Saving a Trainer in Event Days (v4.0) | Resolved an error that occurred when saving a Trainer record within the Event Days feature in SelectHR v4.0. Administrators can now save trainer assignments without error. | None required. |
2265491 | Unable to Open Documents Using Document Icon in Listings | Resolved an issue where clicking the document icon in listings (e.g. Mail Merge, Onboarding Documents, Recruitment Applications) produced an error instead of downloading the document. A previous security hotfix inadvertently broke this functionality for affected customers across v4.0 and SelectHR Evo. | None required. |
