What's New?

SelectHR System Updates: Access Evo Branding

We've updated your SelectHR system to reflect our new Access Evo branding.

Previously, you may have seen references to "Workspace" throughout the system—these have now been updated to Access Evo for consistency.

What's changed?

The following areas of your system now display Access Evo instead of Workspace:

  • Forms and data entry screens

  • Report listings and dashboards

  • Menu items and navigation

  • Field labels and names

  • Help text and information tips

  • Workflow processes

  • Database tables and views

What this means for you

  • No impact on functionality. Your system works exactly the same way.

  • Consistent branding throughout your SelectHR experience.

  • Updated terminology aligns with our Access Evo product suite.

If you have any questions about these changes or notice any areas we may have missed, please don't hesitate to contact our support team.

Cookie Preference Management

We've implemented a comprehensive cookie preference management system to give you control over non-essential functionality whilst ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

What's changed?

Cookie Consent Modal: When you first access SelectHR, you'll now see a cookie consent modal requesting permission for optional cookies. This allows you to make informed choices about which non-essential features you'd like to enable.

Preference Management: You can now manage your cookie preferences at any time to enable or disable optional features. Essential system functionality remains active regardless of your preferences, ensuring uninterrupted access to core features.

Cookie Policy Page: We've created a new public-facing cookie policy webpage that provides complete transparency about cookie usage within SelectHR. The policy clearly details all essential and non-essential cookies used by the system.

Benefits

  • Full control over optional system features

  • Transparency about how cookies are used in SelectHR

  • Compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations

  • Essential functionality always available regardless of preferences

  • Clear information to make informed consent decisions

School Workforce Census Update 2024/25

The School Workforce Census has been updated for the 2024/25 academic year with revised reference dates and validation files to ensure compliance with current DfE requirements.

What's changed?

The census parameters have been updated as follows:

  • Reference Date: 6th November 2025

  • Census Period: 1st September 2024 to 31st August 2025

Benefits

  • Ensures compliance with current DfE requirements

  • Accurate census data collection for the 2024/25 academic year

  • Up-to-date validation files for streamlined reporting

Mobile App Enhancements

Email Directory Visibility

We've enhanced the mobile employee directory to respect email whitelisting settings, ensuring only approved email addresses are visible to users.

What was happening?

The email whitelisting functionality was not being applied to the employee directory on the mobile app. This meant users could potentially see email addresses that should have been restricted based on domain whitelisting settings.

What's fixed?

The mobile directory now fully respects email visibility settings and will only display email addresses from whitelisted domains. This ensures consistent privacy controls across both web and mobile platforms.

Benefits

  • Enhanced privacy and security for employee contact information

  • Consistent email visibility rules across web and mobile applications

  • Better compliance with organisational email policies

  • Peace of mind that only approved email addresses are visible

Absence Request Workflow Fix

We've resolved an issue where cancelling an absence request outside of the original workflow could create orphaned workflows and display incorrect employee information in the calendar view.

What was happening?

When an employee raised an absence request and then cancelled it using a separate cancellation workflow (rather than using the cancellation task within the original running workflow), it would delete the absence but leave the original authorisation workflow orphaned and still running.

When a manager then attempted to action the original orphaned workflow and viewed the calendar, it would incorrectly display employees reporting to the manager's manager, rather than employees reporting to the logged-in manager. This created a security concern by exposing data for employees outside the manager's direct reporting line.

What's fixed?

The system now prevents users from cancelling absence requests outside of the original running workflow. Employees must use the cancellation task within the active workflow to cancel a pending absence request. This ensures workflows are properly closed and prevents orphaned workflows from occurring.

Benefits

  • Prevents orphaned workflows that could cause data visibility issues

  • Ensures calendar views always display the correct reporting line

  • Improved security by preventing access to unauthorized employee data

  • Clearer cancellation process through the original workflow

  • Consistent access controls across all absence management views
