This error indicates that the user trying to open the document does not have the required permissions within the relevant Document Store item or folder.

We have guidance on setting up document store permissions for users correctly. This should be reviewed and fully understood before proceeding with this article.

Check the user's permissions

  1. In the Admin Tool, click Document Store.

  2. In the left panel, single-click on the folder the document is stored in (e.g., Reports, SelectHR, Person...)

  3. Right click on the relevant folder and click Properties.

You will be able to see the permissions assigned to the folder and items from this screen.

The user should have Read Only permissions if the item is a simple document (e.g., Word, PDF) that the user will download, or Update & Delete if the item is a Crystal Report or needs to be updated by the user (such as a policy document).
