The employee import functionality enables bulk importing of multiple employee records via a spreadsheet, bypassing the new employee workflow for efficient large-scale updates.
It is intended for experienced users and requires adding the import workflow to the HR menu set before use. After downloading and populating the import template, administrators can upload and process the data through the web interface.
Testing in a non-live environment is recommended before running in production.

Assign the workflow to the HR menu set
The employee import workflow does not come assigned to any menu sets by default, so if you don't already have this on your HR menu set, add it before you can continue. To do so, follow the steps below:
Log into the Admin Tool, then click Menus.
Double-click your HR menu set.
π Note: We recommend adding this only to menus with experienced users, typically those in HR.
In the left panel, click Employees, then click Employees.
In the right panel, click Add Item then select Existing Workflow.
Scroll down to and single-click SYSTEM - Employee Import.
Click OK, then click Apply.
Click OK.
Populate the import template
To use the workflow, you need to download and populate a spreadsheet template with the information to import into the system.
Process the import
Now that you have access to the workflow, and you've filled out the import template, to complete the import process, follow the steps below.
Under Employees, click SYSTEM - Employee Import.
Click the upload icon, then select the populated spreadsheet and click Upload.
Click Save & Continue.
π€ Tip: Once the validation stage is completed, you will be informed whether the data within your spreadsheet has failed to upload or has been uploaded for processing upon the next service poll. It usually runs every 15 minutes.
