Record identical absences for several employees in one action with the bulk absence entry workflow, or import individual absence history when each employee needs different information recorded.
The guidance below also covers system limitations and tips to keep absence data accurate.
Important Notes
Absences entered via the bulk absence entry workflow will ignore working/non working dates.
Absences which fall on non-working days will not count towards any sickness/holiday statistics.
There is no system functionality to bulk delete absence data generated by this workflow.
You can only select one date range per workflow instance.
You can only select one absence type per workflow instance.
You should not enter sicknesses in bulk, and you should avoid allowing the entry of open ended sickness via this workflow.
Enter absences in bulk
In the Absence zone, click Absence.
Click Absence History, then select all the employee records which will have the absence applied, on the left of the record, click the checkbox.
Click Bulk Absence Entry.
Select the absence type and click Continue.
Enter the date range of the absence record(s), then click Save & Continue.
A notification will be displayed with information on the absence entry. The absences will now be added to the employees.

This can take a short while, depending on how many records will be added, but a notification will be displayed in the bottom right corner of SelectHR when the workflow has successfully added all absence records.
Importing absence history records
