The above error suggests that a Field within the Table you are importing into contains a special character.

πŸ“Œ Note: The Incorrect Syntax near 'X' aspect of the error may contain a different letter depending on the impacted field, and may not necessarily be represented by an 's' as in the example above.

Fields within SelectHR databases must not contain any special characters and must consist only of alphabetical characters.

If you have a Field within your Table that contains a special character, this will require the following actions:

  • The removal of all references to that field from all Forms, Processes, Lookups, Listings, Field Lists etc.

  • A SQL Level change to the Field Name to remove the special character(s).

  • The re-implementation of the Field in all reference points it was removed from.

This is considered data correction and is not something that can be carried out in support.

However, our consultancy team can review the impacted field and perform this work for you in order to resolve the issue. Any consultancy time would likely incur a charge, so it's worth bearing this in mind before raising a request for consultancy time.

If you are impacted by this issue, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article so that the support team can confirm the issue for you. Support will then be able to raise a case with the consultancy team on your behalf should you wish to have the issue resolved by Access.
