Entering a new licence is a three-step process with details in the sections below:
Step | Owner |
Enter the new licence key | Your SelectHR administrator. |
Republish processes with the new key | Your SelectHR administrator. |
Restart IIS | Your IIS needs to be restarted only if your licence has expired.
|
π Note: Ensure you apply your new license to the test system first and then to the live system.
Enter the new licence key
As a SelectHR administrator, follow the steps below:
In the email you received from despatch, copy the new licence key, which is the longer string of characters.
π€ Tip: The shorter string of characters is the licence code that is specific to the organisation and doesn't change throughout the contract period. Ensure this matches the license code on the licence key you've been provided, and update it if it's not correct. To do so, copy the licence ID from the keys into the LicenceID field.
In the SelectHR Admin Tool, click Licence Keys then click Enter a new licence key.
Paste the licence key code here.
Click OK.
You may receive a pop-up message box as follows:
Your new license keys will not take immediate effect because the SQL Server Broker is not enabled. |
This message is informational and refers to an option on the SQL server that is not enabled, and that recycling of the application pool in IIS is required. Click OK.
π€ Tip: If you're hosted with the Access Group and you applied the licence prior to expiration, SelectHR automatically recycles. The licence and number of licences on the login screen update within the next day.
Republish processes with the new key
Every time you apply a new licence key, you need to republish the processes.
β
As a SelectHR administrator, to republish the SelectHR processes, follow the steps below.
In the Admin Tool, click Processes.
At the bottom right-hand side of the window, click Republish All.
Restart IIS
Complete this step only if your licence key had expired before applying the new licence key.
If you are hosted by Access, please raise a case.
If the system is hosted on-premise, contact your IT department and share the steps below.
On the IIS Web Server, press the Windows key and R.
Type iisreset then press Enter.
