⚠️ Important: Microsoft Basic Authentication Retirement ⚠️

Effective March 1, 2026, Microsoft is permanently retiring Basic Authentication for email sending (SMTP AUTH). If your Select HR system currently uses Basic Authentication to send emails, you will need to migrate to Modern Authentication.

What we've done

We have completed work to enable Modern Authentication across all versions of Select HR. This includes:

  • Bug fix 1985119 addressing email formatting issues when Modern Authentication is enabled

  • Support for Modern Authentication configuration across all Select HR versions

What you need to do

Hosted Customers: We have identified hosted customers impacted by this change. If you are affected, you will receive direct communications from us with specific instructions and next steps.

On-Premise Customers: If you are running Select HR on-premise and are currently using Basic Authentication for email, please contact our Support team in the first instance. Our team will provide guidance on the steps required to enable Modern Authentication in your environment.

Timeline

All customers must complete their migration to Modern Authentication by March 1, 2026. After this date, Basic Authentication will no longer work and email functionality will be impacted.

What's New?

GDPR consent fields restored

We've restored missing GDPR Consent fields to the employee details form in V4.

What was happening?

Two GDPR Consent fields that were present in previous versions were missing from the employee details form in V4.

What's fixed?

The missing GDPR Consent fields have been added back to the employee details form, ensuring consistency with previous versions and maintaining compliance

capabilities.

Benefits

  • Full GDPR compliance functionality restored

  • Consistent data collection across system versions

  • Complete employee consent tracking

Cookie Preferences Menu Access

We've improved access to cookie preference management by adding a dedicated menu item.

What was happening?

After users set their initial cookie preferences, they were unable to easily access the cookie policy or update their preferences again.

What's fixed?

A "Cookie Preferences" item has been added to the user profile menu, providing permanent access to cookie settings and policy information.

Benefits

  • Easy access to manage cookie preferences at any time

  • Better transparency and control over privacy settings

  • Improved user experience for compliance features

Employee Search Navigation Fix

We've resolved a navigation error that occurred when accessing employee details through the search facility.

What was happening?

When users searched for an employee and selected their details, they would encounter an Error 404 when attempting to visit sub pages.

What's fixed?

Fixed missing context information in the entity area which resulted in menu set items missing part of the URL. Navigation now works correctly throughout employee record sub pages.

Benefits

  • Seamless navigation after using search functionality

  • Improved user experience and workflow efficiency

  • Reliable access to all employee information pages

Mobile Absence Request Resolution

We've fixed an issue preventing users from completing absence requests on the mobile app.

What was happening?

Users attempting to submit absence requests via the legacy mobile app found that no data appeared in the absence request form, preventing them from completing their requests.

What's fixed?

The data loading issue in the mobile absence request form has been resolved, allowing users to view and complete absence requests successfully.

Benefits

  • Full mobile functionality restored for absence management

  • Improved user experience for mobile workforce

  • Consistent absence request process across all platforms

Event Log Performance Improvement

We've eliminated excessive event log entries that were impacting system performance.

What was happening?

The event log was experiencing significant bloat due to recurring errors: "A public action method 'undefined' was not found on controller 'AccessSelect.WebApplication.Controllers.SystemController'."

What's fixed?

The source of the event log errors has been identified and fixed, preventing unnecessary log entries from accumulating.

Benefits

  • Improved system performance

  • Cleaner, more useful event logs

  • Reduced storage usage
