Mobile App: Holiday Management API Enhancements

We've expanded the SelectHR V5 platform with three new secure API endpoints, giving mobile users comprehensive access to their holiday information for the current holiday year.

What's changed?

Holiday Carryover Statistics: Mobile users can now view their holiday carryover statistics directly through the app, providing instant visibility into any unused allowance brought forward from the previous holiday year.

Taken Holidays Details: A new endpoint enables mobile users to access detailed information about holidays they've already taken in the current holiday year, including dates, duration, and holiday type.

Booked Holidays Details: Mobile users can now view comprehensive information about their upcoming booked holidays for the current holiday year, helping them plan and track their time off more effectively.

Benefits

  • Complete holiday information is accessible on mobile devices

  • Better visibility of carryover allowances for planning purposes

  • Easy tracking of taken and upcoming holidays in one place

  • Improved holiday planning and management on the go

  • Secure access to personal holiday data through authenticated endpoints

Intercom Reclassification

Intercom functionality and its associated cookies have been reclassified from "essential" to "optional" to better align with data protection best practices and give users greater control over non-essential features.

What's changed?

Intercom Status: Intercom functionality, which powers the ADA chat support button, has been downgraded from essential to optional. This means users can now choose whether to enable this feature through their cookie preferences.

Cookie Policy Updates: The cookie policy has been updated to reflect the reclassification of Intercom cookies as optional rather than essential.

ADA Chat Button Behaviour: The ADA chat button will no longer appear if a user has rejected non-essential cookies in their cookie preferences. Users who accept optional cookies will continue to see and use the chat support feature as normal.

Benefits

  • Greater user control over optional support features

  • Improved compliance with data protection regulations

  • More accurate classification of essential vs. optional functionality

  • Transparent cookie categorisation aligned with actual usage

  • Users can still access support through alternative channels if cookies are rejected

Cookie Policy Corrections

We've corrected various cookie categorisations in our cookie policy to ensure complete accuracy and transparency about how cookies are used within SelectHR.

What's changed?

The following categorisation corrections have been made:

  • 1 cookie previously incorrectly marked as performance/functionality category

  • 3 cookies previously incorrectly marked as analytics category

  • 6 cookies previously incorrectly marked as required

  • 3 cookies previously incorrectly marked as first-party

All cookies are now correctly categorised according to their actual function and source.

Benefits

  • Accurate and transparent cookie categorisation

  • Improved compliance with data protection regulations

  • Clear information to make informed consent decisions

  • Enhanced trust through correct classification
