If a user receives the following error when trying to download a payslip on an Android device via the SelectHR Evo app, this article will help you troubleshoot the issue.
This is a file system error, which means the app is attempting to save or open the payslip file in a location that does not exist or is not accessible on the device.
Check storage permissions
On Android 11 and above, apps must be explicitly granted access to device storage. If the SelectHR Evo app does not have permission, it cannot save files to the Downloads folder.
Open Settings on the Android device.
Go to Apps, then SelectHR Evo App.
Tap Permissions.
Find Files & Media (or Storage) and set it to Allow.
Retry the payslip download.
Check available storage space
Ensure the device has sufficient free storage space. A full device can prevent files from being written to the Downloads directory.
Restart the device and retry
Restart the Android device and attempt the payslip download again. This can resolve temporary file system or mount issues.
Try downloading a different payslip
Ask the user to try downloading a different payslip (e.g., from a different pay period) to determine whether the issue is specific to one payslip or affects all downloads.
