Employees are automatically assigned a payroll number

Payroll seeding is a feature that can be used to automatically assign payroll numbers to employees when they are created. This feature can be configured at both the system level and the payroll name level.

It is important to understand that the payroll seeds for each individual payroll, as well as the system itself, run entirely separate from one another. This means that it is possible for the system to assign the same payroll number across different payrolls, but not against the same payroll.

To prevent the system from automatically assigning payroll numbers, set the payroll seed value to 0.
