If your users receive a red triangle with an exclamation mark when uploading a file, check the file extension and that they're given Update and Delete permissions to the folder they're trying to upload to.
If your user is uploading files from self-service in a My Details process, they're likely uploading from the details form.
This listing before the form uses Person.Details so uploaded files are sent to the Person folder in the document store.
Ensure the Everyone group has Update and Delete permissions for the Person folder to allow self-service users to upload and download files by following these steps.
Within the Admin Tool, click Document Store.
On the left side panel, double-click the SelectHR folder.
Right-click the Person folder and select Properties.
On the right, click Add.
If Inherit Permissions is selected and the Users and Groups area is greyed out, check the permission of the parent folder up the tree.
If you untick this option, your users assigned to the parent folder lose the permission assigned to the child folder. To overcome this, manually add the individual user to the child folder.
Click Type column header. This sorts all groups to the top of the list.
Single click the Everyone group, and then click OK.
Single click the Everyone group, and select Update & Delete.
Click OK.
The same can be applied to any folder in the document store if you require a specific permission assignment.
