When initiating an absence request, a temporary absence record is created for the employee with the same date as the date the request was initiated.

For example, if today is the 1st January, and you start the request, you will have a pending absence for 1st January on your calendar.

As you progress through the workflow, this absence is then updated to reflect the information we entered during the workflow (e.g. the absence type, start date and end date).

If a user initiates multiple requests on the same day, but only progresses with one, this can result in it looking like the system is double-booking the request, when it's actually waiting for the user to progress the original workflow.

The easiest way to check is to follow or guide a user making an absence request and the manager has not receiving it, as this details how you can use the workflow log to identify if the absence request is still with the employee to action.
