What's New
This release includes updates to absence overbooking prevention, the 2026 School and Further Education Workforce Census, Evo Navigator Action Required feed enhancements, consistent version numbering, extended Eploy new-starter data capture, Contacts self-service improvements, security remediations, and a range of bug fixes.
Absence Overbooking Prevention
What was the challenge?
Employees could previously book holiday beyond their entitlement without any warning or restriction, leaving HR teams to manually identify and correct overbooking after it happened.
What's changed?
Per-Holiday Rule overbooking configuration: Each Holiday Rule now has its own "Allow Overbooking" setting, letting HR administrators control whether employees can submit requests that exceed their holiday year allowance under that rule. New and existing Holiday Rules default to allowing overbooking, so administrators actively switch it off on the rules where they want it blocked.
Self-service requests blocked where not allowed: Where overbooking has been switched off for a Holiday Rule, employees can no longer submit a self-service request that would exceed their balance.
Manager approval alerts: Managers see an alert before approving an entry that would create an overbooking situation.
Warnings on single and bulk entry: When entering a single absence, or processing several at once, managers and administrators who reach an overbooking situation see a warning with the choice to go back, cancel, or proceed anyway.
Holiday overbooking report: A new report lists every instance where entitlement has been exceeded, for review at Holiday Rule or organisation level.
Benefits
Overbooking rules configurable per Holiday Rule, allowing different policies to apply across different employee groups rather than one setting for the whole organisation
Overbooking warnings at the point of single or bulk absence entry, with the option to override for genuine exceptions rather than blocking every case outright
Automatic blocking of self-service requests that would exceed entitlement, keeping leave balances accurate without manual correction after the fact
A holiday overbooking report giving HR full visibility of every instance where entitlement has been exceeded, across Holiday Rules and the organisation

School and Further Education Workforce Census 2026 Updates
What was the challenge?
Each year's statutory workforce census carries its own reference dates, collection period and validation rules, and the platform needed updating to reflect the 2026 requirements ahead of the return window opening.
What's changed?
Updated SWC 2026 reference data: Reference dates, census period and validation rules for the 2026 School Workforce Census (SWC) have been updated in line with the latest DfE specification.
FE Workforce Export roll-forward: The Further Education (FE) Workforce Export census period date has been rolled forward to the 2026 collection period.
Benefits
Customers can generate compliant SWC and FE Workforce returns for the 2026 collection period without manual workarounds
Reduces the risk of rejected or invalid statutory submissions.
Evo Navigator - Action Required Feed Enhancements
What was the challenge?
Action Required feed items in Evo Navigator previously displayed generic or unclear topic information, making it harder for employees and managers to identify what a pending workflow task was about at a glance.
What's changed?
Clearer Action Required feed items: Feed items in Evo Navigator — shown to users as Action Required — that are generated from workflow task activity now carry a dynamic topic ID and friendly name instead of a generic label, making it clearer what an Action Required item relates to.
Updated workflow variants: Absence Request, Training, Bank Details Change Request, and Vacancy workflows have been updated to align with the latest Action Required feed behaviour.
Benefits
Clearer, more informative Action Required feed entries in Evo Navigator
Consistent workflow behaviour across absence, training, bank details, and vacancy actions.
📌 Note: These quick actions will appear in the Evo Navigator menu once activated. Full user guides will be provided alongside the activation communication. Please speak to your Account Manager to learn more.
Consistent Version Numbering
What was the challenge?
Version numbers were previously generated and displayed inconsistently in different parts of the product, making it harder for customers and support teams to confirm which build they were running.
What's changed?
Standardised version display: The in-product version number shown to users is now standardised across the platform, so the same version reference is displayed consistently wherever it appears.
Benefits
Easier, more reliable version identification for troubleshooting and support.
Consistent experience across the platform.
Eploy - Extended New-Starter Data Capture
What was the challenge?
Previously, only a limited set of new-starter fields transferred from Eploy into SelectHR Evo, meaning admins had to manually enter the remaining details after a candidate was hired.
What's changed?
Additional new-starter fields: The Eploy integration now transfers additional new-starter data across four categories: personal & contact details, bank & financial details, diversity & disability data, and contract & payroll details.
New Employee Wizard routing: New starters coming through ADTS/Eploy are now routed through the full New Employee Wizard flow, including mail merge, right-to-work (RTW) checks, and user account creation.
Benefits
Reduces duplicate data entry for new starters recruited through Eploy.
Ensures new-starter records are more complete from day one, including RTW and user access setup.
Less manual admin work during onboarding.
📌 Note: To Learn more about the SelectHR and Eploy integration please speak to your Account Manager.
Evo Navigator - Contacts Self-Service and Workflow Updates
What was the challenge?
Employees currently must open the full SelectHR application, or use separate Contacts screens in the native mobile app, to update details such as address, phone number, email, or relationship information.
What's changed?
Delete Contact Details: Customers can now delete contact details directly within SelectHR (SelectHR-only scope for this release).
Self-service actions moved to new workflow: Self-service areas that previously used the legacy contact create/update/delete actions have been moved onto the new contacts workflow with in build workflow hooks that allow configuration whilst protecting the standard workflow.
Benefits
A more consistent self-service experience for managing contacts
Foundation laid for further contact management improvements planned for a future release
📌 Note: These quick actions will appear in the Evo Navigator menu once activated. Full user guides will be provided alongside the activation communication. Please speak to your Account Manager to learn more.
