If a pending absence is showing in a calendar, this indicates that there is a running workflow which is yet to be actioned.
The most common cause of this will be that the employee has not fully completed their request. Ask them to review their task list in self service.
If they have completed it, you will be able to check who it is waiting on via the workflow log.
